China is increasingly accessible for Bangladeshi travellers, with applications now processed through a dedicated visa centre in Dhaka rather than the embassy directly.
Visa Type: Multiple categories depending on purpose — L (tourist), F (business), X (study), Z (work), G (transit). Most leisure travellers apply for the L visa.
Fee: Starts from around BDT 2,400 for a single-entry visa, rising to roughly BDT 11,200 for multiple-entry/longer-validity categories, depending on visa type and entries. Note: Bangladeshi passport holders are currently not covered under China’s 72/144-hour visa-free transit scheme, so a transit visa is required if leaving the airport.
Embassy/Visa Centre Details: Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC), 3rd Floor, Praasad Trade Center, 6 Kemal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka. CVASC accepts applications on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Dhaka.
How to Submit: Complete the COVA (Chinese Online Visa Application) form online first, then visit CVASC in person during submission hours (typically Sunday–Thursday mornings) to submit documents and provide biometrics.
Documents Checklist:
Affidavit for any name change on the passport, if applicable
Passport (6+ months validity, minimum 2 blank pages, plus old passports if any)
Two recent photos (35×45mm, white background, per Chinese specifications)
Completed COVA application form print-out
Invitation letter, if applicable (required for business/work visas)
Six months’ bank statement
Confirmed flight and hotel bookings
Detailed travel itinerary
Employer NOC/leave letter or business/trade licence
