Employment Visa Prerequisites

Applicants seeking a work visa for the UAE must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining
  • Acquire an entry permit from the Ministry of Labour
  • Have a signed employment contract
  • Successfully complete a medical examination
  • Obtain health insurance coverage

UAE Work Visa Application Procedure

Step 1: Employer Obtains Approval for Entry Visa Quota
Initially, the hiring organization must secure authorization from the Ministry of Labour (MOL) to employ foreign workers.

Step 2: Submission of Employment Agreement
Both the employer and the employee are required to sign a standardized employment agreement and submit it to the MOL for validation.

Step 3: Application for Work Permit and Entry Visa
The employer proceeds to apply for a work permit and entry visa by providing the necessary documents of the employee, which include educational certificates and copies of the passport.

Step 4: Issuance of Employment Entry Visa
Upon approval, the employee is granted an Employment Entry Visa, permitting entry into the UAE within a 60-day timeframe.

Step 5: Arrival in the UAE and Medical Assessment
After arriving in the UAE, the employee must complete a compulsory medical examination for infectious diseases.

Step 6: Application for Residence Visa
Following the successful medical assessment, the employer submits an application for a residence visa on the employee’s behalf.

Step 7: Registration for Emirates ID
The employee is required to apply for an Emirates ID within 15 days of arrival, which is necessary for all official procedures.
